Randal has been in the audio/visual industry since 1973, when he responded to the call of the muse—and functioned as lighting designer—at the Honolulu Community Theater. While serving in the United States Army in Europe he acted as technical director for The Kelly Players theatrical group, performing at NCOIC clubs throughout Southern Germany. His technical expertise expanded when he returned stateside in 1980, working in nightclubs and dinner theaters in Waikiki. During this same time Randy gained further experience in the fields of audio, special effects, multi-image, video projection, computer interfacing, project management, and technical support services, before moving his family to the mainland in 1989.
Randy began developing customized software for project management services while working in the major events department with one of the country’s leading audio/visual companies. His own enterprise, CRI Project Management, Inc., was created in 1993 with a primary goal of designing and developing state of the art software to support production companies, technical directors, meeting planners, and corporate events. In 1998 Randal was appointed systems integration director for creative technology, tasked with evaluating asset management software and choosing single-source solutions for a number of national corporations.
Randy’s desire for professional growth led him to master the skills of freelance graphics operator, video projectionist, and project manager, and he employed these talents at events throughout the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, and Hawaii. In 2007 Randy took on the national sales executive position for Audio Visual Factory based out of the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. During his tenure with AVF, he has developed and assisted in producing events with the UW Office of Ceremonies, UW Medical Advancement, and many other prestigious clients. Randy is currently focused on blending profession and passion to deliver an experience of incredible “WoW” for every individual he encounters.
